The MAHAVIR GROUP is among the first batch of ship recycling yards which started its operations in the year Alang was founded. We are the pioneers of the industry & also one of the first yards to install electric cranes in Alang. We have been in the industry for over three decades and have recycled 80+ vessels which accounts for approx. 6 Lack tonnage. We are certified from ClassNK, RINA & IRS for HKC/ISO 9001, 14001, 45000 & 30000 respectively. We are committed to promoting sustainable practices in the ship recycling industry and reducing the environmental impact of its operations.

Meet Our Founders

Late Mr. Moti Lal Jain founded the Mahavir Group in the year 1932 by starting a rolling mill in Kanpur (UP) which turned milestones by producing 90 MT/day. He then stepped into the entertainment industry and inaugurated a movie theatre in his hometown which was a big success till 1980. Being a visionary man he was, he even setup a fully automated automobile lamp production unit (Jyoti Lamps) in the year 1960 and imported raw materials from China. His contribution to jain community has been enormous as he opened schools, built temples and donated all for upliftment of his community.

Mr. Mukesh Chand Jain with his father started the Mahavir Ship Breakers in the year 1983 and were among the first batch of ship recyclers. With his deep knowledge in metals he is able to provide re-purpose for all the scrap that is recovered from a vessel.

Mr. Dinesh Chand Jain joined the Mahavir Ship Breakers as director of operations in the year 1985 after completing his masters in business management and made recycling of the vessels more efficient by adding new strategies and more efficient recycling practices in the SRF
